Fail a few, win the many

Embrace the Power of Multiplicity: Achieve More by Setting 10+ New Year Resolutions

Fail a few, win the many

“Fail a few, win the many”. Last year, I had 15 New Year's resolutions!

I know, I know – we're only halfway through the year... But have you lived your life as you intended at the beginning of the year? Yes? 😊 No? ☹

I used to fail at my New Year's resolutions, but last year I started having more than one resolution. Suddenly, I failed even more resolutions, BUT I also started winning at more of them.

The idea of having many resolutions is to 'fail a few, win the many'!

With 10+ resolutions:
1) You can have a diverse set of resolutions – both in difficulty and timescale (I have one-off, weekly, and monthly resolutions).
2) You cover both private and professional aspects of life.
3) You have a better opportunity for resolution optimization by looking at what worked/failed and why.

Some resolutions I win, some I fail, and yet others I abandon as I realize they are not important to me.

But wait, why talk about resolutions midyear? Well, the best time to plant a New Year's resolution was 6 months ago, while the second-best time is today! 😊

So, which resolutions will you dare to win/fail at starting today?

P.S. Here is a subset of my New Year's resolutions for inspiration _^^
- Read 1 book a month.
- Do one thing I don't dare to do every month.
- Dance a crazy dance once a week.
- Define a speed-read metric and improve it 2x.
- Give an “unexpected gift” every month.
- Buy an electric piano.
- Visit South America and Africa.
- Get an extra mentor.
- Do 4x science communication.
