Brain seeding
Unlocking Possibilities: Teleporting the Mind through Brain Seeding
Brain Seeding 🌱 This concept is for those who want better options.
So far, we have been talking about how to choose between multiple options. However, we have neglected the equally important part of generating options. After all, our options limit our decision-making.
When we look for options (or solutions to a problem), our brain takes a semi-random walk. One thought leads to another and so on. Consequently, this walk tends to stay within our (metaphorically) local neighborhood, preventing us from encountering radically new options or ideas.
A solution to this is "brain seeding" – an idea closely related to how a computer finds solutions computationally using 'random seeds'.
In the context of finding solutions computationally, random seeding involves initializing the starting conditions for algorithms or optimization techniques with a random value. It introduces randomness to the search process, helping explore different regions of the solution space and potentially avoiding local optima. By varying the seed, it increases the chances of finding a global or near-optimal solution by exploring a wider range of possibilities. Random seeding adds flexibility and efficiency to computational searches for solutions by injecting randomness into the initial conditions of the algorithm.
Brain seeds, much like the random seeds used in computer models, serve as a catalyst for inspiration, taking our thoughts from one place to an entirely new realm. They have the incredible ability to transport us beyond our usual mental boundaries and cover vast options that we likely would have otherwise overlooked.
I like to say that 'brain seeding' is a way to introduce teleportation to our brain's random walk _^^
So, what are concrete ways to seed our brain? One classical method is discussing the topic with others. Whether it's seeking input from family members, friends, colleagues, or even therapists, these interactions can infuse fresh perspectives. The external insights and diverse experiences shared by others act as nourishment for our own thoughts, enabling us to break free from the confines of our own biases.
However, brain seeding isn't limited to using external sources alone. We can also tap into the wellspring of our subconscious mind to find fertile ground for creativity. As one example highlighting the broadness of this concept, consider the realm of dreams. While the inherent meaning of dreams may vary from person to person, the act of interpreting them offers a unique opportunity to think differently about our current situations and the choices that lie ahead. Exploring our dreams allows us to access a rich tapestry of symbolism, emotions, and unfiltered thoughts, which can lead to fresh perspectives and unconventional solutions. Here I used dreams as an example, but, seriously, there are sooo many ways to seed your brain!
