🐟 Fishbowl: the anti-procrastination task picker Live
A minimal execution app. You put your tasks in, and it hands you back exactly one of them at random. Time logs itself, streaks build, and the question of what to do next stops being a question.
Free. No signup required. Works on any device.
How it works, in three clicks
- Brain-dump your tasks. One per line, Enter to add.
- Click Next. One task appears. Just the one, which is the entire point.
- Click Done. The time logs itself and the next task is queued.
Why randomisation works
- No decision fatigue. Picking the task is the part that costs you, so the app picks.
- Tracking without effort. Time logs when you hit Done. Nothing to start, nothing to forget to stop.
- One task on screen. A list of forty things is a list of forty reasons to do none of them.
- Streaks. A daily counter, which turns out to be more motivating than it has any right to be.
- Keyboard shortcuts. Alt+N for next, Alt+D for done, Alt+S to show everything.
- Tags. Optional, for keeping work and life in separate bowls.
Fishbowl is not a to-do list. It is an execution system, built to help you finish things rather than plan them. Nikolaj K. Mandsberg, creator
Who it is for
- Overthinkers who get stuck prioritising instead of starting.
- Distractible brains that need one thing on the screen at a time.
- Habit builders who want a visible daily streak.
- Deep workers whose two-hour flow states do not survive a 25-minute timer.
